Join us for an exhilarating group motorcycle adventure focused on forging connections and sharing the thrill of the ride. Throughout our journey, each rest stop will provide cool refreshments and snacks, and every meal stop is meticulously pre-planned. Enjoy every mile of the roadway without a worry in the world.
*With the recent floods and mudslides in Southern California the daily routes could change to keep our riders safe.
This year’s ride will honor the life of Matt McAtee. A fellow rider gone too soon.
Day 1.
THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2024.
We ride through the lemon groves of Fillmore on our way to Ojai and continue along the winding canyons of the Los Padres National Forest for a leisurely lunch stop at the historic Cold Springs Tavern. Then head to rolling hills covered with vineyards on our way to Pismo beach. We end with a Sunset BBQ dinner on the beach patio of the SeaCrest Hotel.
Day 2.
Friday, MAY 3, 2024.
We ride up the coastline to the picture book town of Harmony and then continue onto historic Pacific Coast Highway. Our next stop is the Piedras Blancas to observe the biggest colony of elephant seals on the West Coast. Then arrive at the Carmel River Inn and prepare for our Riders Reception & Dinner, celebrating the life of Matt McAtee.
Day 3 — The Quail Gathering
Saturday, MAY 4, 2024 (daytime).
We start with a private ride through the hills of Carmel on our way to The Quail Motorcycle Gathering, where there will be a private VIP parking area for our bikes. You'll receive VIP credentials for the event. Enjoy exclusive access to the Why We Ride Private Lounge. Next, join us for the Why We Ride Group picture with the winner of The Why We Ride Trophy. And … finally, please join us for the 2nd annual Why We Ride For Kids Banquet at the Quail Lodge, benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Day 3 — The “Why We Ride for Kids” Banquet.
Saturday, MAY 4, 2024 (evening).
You'll enjoy cocktails and an amazing assortment of Hors d’oeuvres followed by dinner.
A silent auction of incredible collectibles with all proceeds going to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Special guest speakers include our sponsors, Why We Ride Community hosts, and a Star Family from the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

THURSDAY — MAY 2, 2024.
• We start with a light lunch in Moorpark, Calif.
• Leisurely scenic ride through the Los Padres National Forest, with a “World Best Tri-tip sandwich” lunch stop to at the famous Cold Spring Tavern (originally known as the "Cold Spring Stagecoach Relay Station" during the 1800s) on our way to Pismo Beach, Calif.
• Sunset BBQ dinner with beer, wine and soft drinks on the beach patio of the SeaCrest Hotel.
FRIDAY — MAY 3, 2024.
• Continental Breakfast at the SeaCrest Hotel.
• We’ll venture north along the picturesque Pacific Coast Highway and take a rest stop in Harmony, Calif. — the “The Tiny Town with Big Character”. We will continue throughout the day with fun stops including Piedras Blancas to observe the biggest colony of elephant seals on the west coast.
• We finished the day of amazing riding at Carmel River Inn with a Rider’s dinner party with appetizers and a cash bar, honoring Matt McAtee.
SATURDAY — MAY 4, 2024.
• Private ride to The Quail Motorcycle Gathering.
• Private VIP parking area for our bikes.
• VIP credentials into the Quail Motorcycle Gathering.
• Exclusive access to the Why We Ride Private VIP Riders Lounge.

This group ride is lead by experienced ride leaders. We adhere to all safety guidelines and roadway laws. Riders who adhere to our safety guidelines and stay with our group will be covered by our insurance policy; riders who wish to break away will not.
